The Sistering Recording
A Bold Collaboration: Four Voices, One Vision

Nnenna, Kate, Lenora, and Lois are The Sistering! This collaboration is unlike anything we’ve done before. Rather than forming a traditional group, we made a conscious decision to come together as spiritual sisters, each voice remaining a distinct reflection of self. What we discovered was something transcendent: spaces where each singer’s soul-specific voice resonated, intersected, and ultimately created something greater than the sum of its parts.

The Sistering is an interplay of “me” and “we.”  We each composed two individual songs for the project and co-wrote “Origins” and “River Song. New soulful artistic ground is broken as we explore themes of family, love and loss.

The Sistering is self-financed, self-produced, and fully owned by the four of us as joint executive producers. However, in order to bring it fully into the world, we need your support. Help us bring this declaration of autonomy, artistry, and soulful agency to a world hungry for the POV of women “of a certain age.”

The Sistering is a bold statement of artistry, agency, and sisterhood — a celebration of seasoned voices rewriting the rules of jazz, one note at a time.

As Toni Cade Bambara says, “Sister(ing) is a verb.”
